It's week 3 of our summer blog series, where we're taking an in-depth look at each of our programs and how they work together to transform lives through education! This week, find out how our preschool program for 3 and 4 year olds is uniquely Guadalupe.

What is the Preschool program?

Our preschool program is a half-day program that is aligned with the curriculum of the charter school Kindergarten (more on Charter School next week!). A balance of learning choices and teacher instruction are used to teach pre-Kinders the alphabet, counting, shapes, and other skills that will become the base of the rest of their school careers.

What makes this preschool program unique?
  • Our preschoolers can receive free transportation from their front door to and from the school each day.
  • Classes are kept small, with each room having 3 adults to care for 20-25 children.
  • Preschool students regularly get assessed on their development and performance, so that our highly qualified teachers can address any difficulties before they become real issues.
What is the coolest thing about Preschool?
The best part about the preschool program is that it keeps learning fun! During choice time, students can draw letters, practice math games on the computer, or count manipulative like colored dinosaurs. It definitely feels more like play than work, but it keeps littles engaged and makes education a positive experience, and that's how those growing brains learn best.

How do I get involved?

Want to know how you can enroll in or support our preschool program?
You can apply to become part of our preschool program when you visit our application page here.

On the other hand, if you don't have little ones, there are other ways to get involved with Preschool. Volunteer your time helping teachers in the classroom if you want to see where all the fun happens.

Or, if you can't volunteer, but feel moved to help out, our preschool teachers always have needs for the following items which can be dropped off at school anytime between 9 am and 4 pm.
- Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer
- Sensory toys
- Puzzles
- Age appropriate books
- Age appropriate art supplies
